Saracens Broadfields joined Saracens Education last September and we’re going from strength to strength!

  • Highest ever timetables check outcomes (23.23 average score)
  • Highest yet ‘Good’ level of development outcomes at 72.8% for our Early Years pupils. 
  • Pupil Premium pupils outperformed their more advantaged peers in KS2 reading

It’s into this successful context that Mrs Marriott has taken up the role of principal.

Mrs Marriott has experience of working in a number of primary schools and comes to us from a nine year term as the headteacher of Pinner Wood School where they achieved ‘outstanding’ from Ofsted in all areas.

Our new principal explains why moving to Saracens Broadfields was such an easy decision:

‘The moment I walked into Saracens Broadfields, I knew this was the place for me. I was immediately struck by the warmth of our community, the dedication of our strong staff team, and our truly exceptional facilities – it genuinely feels like a little countryside in the city!’

A big Broadields welcome to Mrs Marriott, and an enormous thank you to Mrs Keane for leading our school as Acting Principal last year and for continuing with us now as Vice Principal.

Google Visited Us!

We were delighted to welcome our local MP for Chipping Barnet, Dan Tomlinson, alongside a team from Google to Saracens Broadfields recently. The pupils absolutely loved the immersive assembly which was incredibly relevant for helping children understand how to keep safe online in today’s digital world.

Following the digital safety session, Dan spoke openly and honestly to the children about some of the struggles he faced while growing up. It was inspiring for our pupils to hear first-hand that anyone, regardless of their background, can work hard and go on to become an MP.

We would like to say a huge thank you to both Dan and the Google team for giving our children such a memorable and motivating experience. We are certain the lessons learnt will stay with them for a very long time.

Ms Pass(ed) The Marathon Test!

A huge congratulations to our very own Ms Pass for not only completing the London Marathon but for doing so in just over 4.5 hours! Amazing!

Student Charity Challenge

Three Year 13 students from Saracens High School have decided to take-on a climbing challenge across the British isles to raise money for the Saracens Foundation. Here’s the challenge in their own words:

We’re a group of friends who’ve collectively been part of Saracens High School for over two decades, and rooted in the community for even longer. 

This challenge is our way of giving back to the community and our Saracens family that’s given us so much over the years. The Saracens Foundation does incredible work changing lives across Barnet and beyond – from mentoring young people to supporting families facing hardship. We want to play our part.

We’ve been inspired by our Duke of Edinburgh exploits and the urge to push ourselves, give back, and support others who need it. So we’re taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge – climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon back-to-back, all within 24 hours.

Every step will be self-funded. 100% of your donations go directly to the Saracens Foundation – we’re covering all travel, accommodation and other costs ourselves.

Dancing Dynamos!

We are so proud of our dancers, who wowed everyone at the Barnet Dance Festival.

With the guidance and instruction from our incredibly talented Miss D and Miss Jackson, our dancers delivered a powerful performance that challenged gender stereotypes. Our boys were phenomenal and a very welcome addition to our dance troupe. We hope they inspire many more gender-mixed dance groups in the future.

A brilliant performance and a proud moment for our school. Well done everyone!

Science Final at Oxford University

We have some electrifying news to share! Following a brilliant performance in the Quiz Club Science General Knowledge area heats, we are thrilled to announce that one of our teams has secured a spot in the national finals.

Competing against over 44 schools, our team—comprising two talented pupils from Year 5 and two from Year 6—showed incredible teamwork and expertise to win their heat outright. This victory earns them a prestigious invitation to Oxford University on 29th June.

We hope all our pupils have enjoyed the journey through the Maths Championship and Science heats so far. Please join us in congratulating our young scientists as they prepare to represent Saracens Broadfields on the national stage. It is a monumental achievement to be recognised among the top teams in the country!

Debating Club In The Final!

We are thrilled to announce that the Saracens Broadfields Debate Club has reached the grand final of the prestigious Cicero Cup. After a brilliant performance in the semi-finals on 3rd March, our talented pupils have secured a spot in the top eight teams across the entire UK.

This is a truly incredible achievement, especially as our club only began in 2024. In the upcoming final this June, our Year 5 and 6 debaters will be competing against some of the most elite private schools in the country. To have reached this level is a testament to our children’s hard work, confidence, and sharp oracy skills.

From tackling tough motions on mandatory military service to judging our recent ‘teachers’ debate,’ our members have shown fantastic dedication. We are immensely proud of their progress and look forward to cheering them on in the final. GO SARRIES!

World Book Day

World Book Day is always a spectacular highlight of our school year, and this year was no exception! Our corridors were filled with colour and imagination as children and staff alike dressed in incredible costumes to celebrate the joy of reading.

We were especially thrilled to welcome Saracens first-team player, Alec Clarey, to our school. Alec spent the morning visiting classrooms, listening to the children read, and chatting about their favourite books. He was very impressed by our pupils’ reading skills and enthusiasm. Wallace Collection

In January, our pupils enjoyed a wonderful trip to The Wallace Collection. We explored the incredible treasures of the Wallace family, including stunning furniture, intricate jewellery, and world-class paintings.

A true highlight was gaining exclusive access to a private area. There, the children studied Canaletto’s famous views of Venice—originally painted as souvenirs for wealthy travelers. Inspired by his precision, the group practiced sketching their favorite details from these masterpieces.

As one pupil put it: ‘I can’t believe that one family were able to collect so many amazing things!’

It was an unforgettable day of art and history.
