Thank you for registering your school to participate in the concert at the Royal Albert Hall on 1st April 2025. I am delighted to tell you that this email confirms your school's place as one of the 30 Barnet schools taking Please” target=”_blank” title=”rehearsals.

Please note that it will be a long day that would not be suitable for younger children. We therefore expect that schools will bring children aged 9 years and older, as we stipulate for the Barnet Schools Music Festivals. This aligns with current child licensing laws, which state that children under 9 require additional breaks throughout the day and are limited to 3 hours of rehearsal and performance time in one day. Although of course we will be mindful of the rehearsal and concert schedules, the total time will undoubtedly exceed 3 hours due to the number of children and performers involved. This measure ensures compliance with legal requirements and the BOPA we need to apply Term.

Cluster Rehearsals
We plan to run cluster rehearsals during the week commencing 3rd March 2025, and we are seeking schools to host these sessions.
Cluster rehearsals will take place in the morning (10:00 – 11:30 AM) and the afternoon (1:15 – 2:45 PM). If your school is available to host, please let me know which days and times you can offer, along with confirmation that your school hall and piano are available.
Please note that attendance at one of these rehearsals will be compulsory for all participating students.
Please note that each school is asked to bring no more than 30 children, and we kindly request that every effort is made to ensure the full 30 are selected to participate. We will be asking you for confirmed exact numbers later this term.
