SEND
At Saracens Broadfields we aim to make every effort to secure provision for any child with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND) and to improve their outcomes through high aspirations and expectations
All Barnet Local Authority (LA) schools are expected to identify and support pupils with special educational needs and to support them in making the best possible progress. Schools are required to be inclusive, with the needs of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities being met in a mainstream setting wherever possible.
Schools have a duty to publish SEN information on their website that is reviewed annually. The Local Authority is also expected to publish information about services they expect to be available for the children and young people with SEN aged 0-25. This is called the ‘Local Offer’: https://www.barnetlocaloffer.org.uk
The intention of the Local Offer is to improve choice and information being given to families. It will be an important resource for parents and carers in understanding the range of services and provision in their local area.
SEN Information Report
The purpose of our school’s SEN Information Report is to inform parents and carers about:
- how we welcome into our school children with special educational needs and/or disabilities
- how we support them in all aspects of school life and remove barriers to achievement
- how we work in close partnership with parents/carers and children
- how we make effective provision for all of our children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
